总结前人的观点，我们认为，审美是个体对审美客体的主观加工过程。这种加工过程表现为个体直觉认知或理性认知到对象的和谐关系，并获得身心美感体验的活动。通过审美，个体最终体验到了美。具体说来，审美是指个体在对审美客体感知的基础上，通过一定的认知加工和情绪加工，体验到由此而带来的愉悦的过程。在审美过程中，认知加工和情绪加工共同起作用。
